Wildlife Education - Techniques for the Safe Removal of Raccoons from Attics in Memphis, TN

Memphis Raccoon Control & Removal

I recommend American Wildlife Removal Experts for raccoon removal and wildlife removal in the Memphis area. I have spoken with the owner of American Wildlife Removal Experts, and he fully understands Tennessee raccoons and their behavior, and the proper methods for humane removal. For me to recommend him, he has agreed to abide by rules of humane wildlife removal, all Shelby County and Tennessee wildlife laws, and have a thorough understanding of wildlife biology and the concerns associated with critter removal, such as the welfare of the animals, the presence of baby raccoons in the attic, and the need to perform complete wildlife removal services with permanent results, utilizing techniques such as home inspections, preventative repairs, and animal waste cleanup.

Hello! Great and informative site you have! Wish you resided in the Memphis area! I was hoping you could offer your opinion. Two weeks ago, I realized I have a raccoon in my attic. I contacted a local recommended trapper, who did come and set a live trap on my roof. After 4 days, the bait (cat food) disappeared, but the trap never closed and was empty. They replaced the food the following day. Four days after that, the trap closed, but was empty and the food remained inside. The service came again anf reset the trap; another four days have passed and still nothing. I'm repeatedly told to "give it a few more days." I'm awake half the night, as I hear it loudly come and go, then putter about in the attic. I'm hoping for some additional advice or wondering if I need to eat my cash loss and hire another trapper. Thanks for any direction you can give (I really need some sleep!). :-) Courtney

Hi there - I have read your website and I am contacting you for some advice. I live in Memphis, TN on a farm that appears I am sharing with a growing number of raccoons. Here is my problem. We are trying to trap the raccons using the cage designed to do the job. Set it up last night - this morning the food is gone and the trap hasn't been set off. They seem to know to avoid the trip bar on the trap, take the food and disappear. This has happened in past years and we keep setting the trap and can get lucky once in a while. The trap is fairly new and when the trip bar is tested - it appears to work ok. I am writing, to ask if you know of a trick or can provide some advice to us. I still believe I am smarter than our raccoons but over the past several nights all I am doing is providing food for the critters and they are out smarting me. There is evidence on our roof where they are trying to remove siding and I need to stop this activity sooner rather than later. Have you run across this problem and do you have any suggestions? Thanks for reading this - Ruth
