Los Angeles California Raccoon Control Situation: Hi David, I like your website. Very clear. Hope you are still in business. I ve asked Kristen to call you, because I live in Los Angeles. I thought I d explain our situation real fast though. We have two raccoons who live in our attic. Lately, we noticed their water dish being knocked over and their food has been rooted in. Ordinarily, I do not mine feeding stray animals, but raccoons have better manners then this and don t knock over water dishes, so we knew something was up. We think we saw a strange animal leaving at night through the hole in the attic. I saw a long tail, so I figured it was a possum or armadillo or something. It was so fast, and dark, though I couldn t be sure what I saw. It wasn't a squirrel though. So we go outside during the day, and I do not see what an armadillo would leave, which is the snouted up ground, with it rooting around. That is why I think we have a possum or possums living there in the yard. Kristen found what we think is a nest, but we were hesitant to test out the theory. It is very cleverly constructed, which impressed me. It is a hole in the ground, with a batch of pine needles under several sticks and branches all laid out nice and neat in a row. I did not think an animal would want to have such a neat looking nest, so I kind of thought perhaps some kids made it. However, maybe you can verify that? We live in Los Angeles Meadows just off the highway. Our housing development is right across from the golf course and near the water treatment plant if that sounds familiar. If you want to swing by and tell us what you d charge to get rid of the possum. I think that is where he lives, but if not, you d have to trap. Problem is the raccoons may foul the trap. I would really like to see the possums unharmed, because I have taken a liking to them. My guess is they probably have babies in that nest. I d also like you to give me a price to set up barriers around the house and fence. I am especially interested in a slightly larger pet door (the raccoons are too fat for the thing we have now, and promptly cut a hole in the screen) and reinforcing the screen on the outside with a barrier to avoid future intrusions by anything that can t fit into the raccoon door. Attic as well. I am not wealthy David, so it may be that I have you do the pest control thing first, then set up the barriers in phases over time. So maybe price the house in three or four phases. I can be flexible though on your time about the barriers though. So can do it when you have the time.
