St. Paul Minnesota Raccoon Control Situation: hello sir, my name is stephanie and i googled Raccoons in attics and your information came up and after your reviewin all your information its beyond true everything that you talk about.... i just hired a wildlife expert Or so and he set up a one way door yesterday and today we realized we had another hole in the roof... and now i am like OMG... after reviewing your information it has to be a mother... yes sir... so now i am more afraid not only if it being up there but also of the after mass of the droppings and urine it can be harmful to us and we have kids.. so my question now to you is how effective is the male urine spray? will it continue to come back? or now can other Raccoons come and try to get it knowin this one has been there..?..? I am having a problem with a raccoon that gets out of a safeguard trap can you recommend any particular brand? Thanks! Your article was great btw, I would love to shoot the mf but this thing is getting into a 200 year old barn I don't want to do too much damage getting rid of the damn thing. your response is greatly appreciated! thanks! About 5 weeks ago we heard some scratching sounds coming from within an exterior wall next to the fireplace (not in fireplace/chimney). We pounded on the wall some and the scratching stopped. The same thing happened again about 2 ½ weeks ago. Last Friday night while reading in an upstairs bedroom I heard a noise and looked out to see a raccoon on the roof. I've pounded on the downstairs wall area off and on this last week but haven't heard more scratching. When I had the house re-roofed in Oct. 2011 the roofer found some raccoon damage by one of the chimneys and fixed it. We hadn't noticed more problems until recently. I do have an overhanging tree which I need to get pruned, but after reading more about raccoons I was wondering if I need to leave the branches overhanging, as an escape route, for the time being. If there is raccoon damage somewhere, or holes where they're getting in I would really like to get that fixed as soon as possible.
