David I'm sure either a raccoon or squirrels have taken up residence in our crawl space, and it's occurring 10-3 at night; my research suggests that it's nocturnal thus a raccoon. It's a loud movement, also less likely to be squirrels.....but raccoons are not so fast that if they were on the roof, and I came from the front of my home, and I hear all his work going on at the back of our home, that when my wife was cued to bang the gutters that I would not see him move, bright moon above me.....but I've seen no animal. Have you investigate Advanced but simply failed to comment on them? Your detailed explanation as to what could be happening suggested I have a pro take care of it, I don't know what to look for, and if confronting a raccoon protecting its home, I'm fearful we might have an angry animal, and where to look for babies that are not out in the open, all says, have someone do this right. Thank you, Barry
