Several years ago I was foolishly duped into becoming a NWCO to help pay for rehabbing, since as a rehabber I have to pay for rehabbing out of my own funds unless I am a 501(c)3 non-profit. I only lasted 3 years before the culture of killing was too much for me to tolerate. I am now just rehabbing again. I keep trying to change the mindset. Last season I rehabbed 70 raccoons out of 425 babies total. Needless to say, I work so I can rehab. I am now the only active RVS rehabber in the northern half of the state. I decided it was time to found a 501(c)3 so I would not have to turn a baby away due to lack of funds.
