I think there is a raccoon living in my attic I was told that it is illegal to have them removed the month of April and May because that’s when they have there babies I some need help! Jjust the thought of them being there freaks me out. The raccoon (Procyon lotor) is a common woodland resident with a black mask and dark-ringed, bushy tail. Raccoons can be seen feeding on exposed mud flats in coastal areas during low tide. While feeding, they frequently wet their hand-like paws in the water to enhance their sense of touch. Cute as they may be, raccoons can become nuisances around picnic areas where they quickly learn they can find easy meals and hand outs. At the beach, however, raccoons pose a serious threat to coastal birds and sea turtles by raiding nests for eggs. Do your part to share the shore with wildlife. When visiting natural areas - especially the beach - take back all of your trash and unwanted food scraps to avoid attracting raccoons to sensitive nesting habitat.
